Japanese title: デート・ア・ライブⅣ
English title: Date A Live IV
No. of Episodes: 12
Season: Spring 2022
My personal score: 8/10
Quick answer: Only for those who watched the prequels.
Things get a little out of hand yet again for Shido, with yet even more girls that he needs to date in this
season. In my honest opinion, the concept is already getting a little old by now, so that is not the most
enjoyable part of this season.
Rather, this time the plot unfolds some information that has been kept hidden thus far. If you don't mind a
spoiler alert: it's revealed how the Spirits came about to be.
The way it's told in this show can feel like an anticlimatic revelation, though it's still interesting to
finally figure that out nonetheless.
Overall, story and development feels just about the same as the previous seasons of this series, still with
the relatively fast pacing. The ending is another cliff hanger, and clearly indicates that there is another
sequel in the making.
The artwork is still as good as ever, not disappointed at all. The action scenes during combats are
especially still as great as its prequels. There are slightly less action scenes in this season, however.
And, of course, fanservice still included.
If you are interested in watching this, it's practically required to watch from the very beginning of the
series. If you have been an avid follower of this series, then I say this season is a good watch.
