Japanese title: キリングバイツ

English title: Killing Bites

No. of Episodes: 12

Season: Winter 2018

My personal score: 7/10

Quick answer: Kinda yes.

Disclaimer: this anime is not suitable for little kids.

Do you like animals? Do you like action battle scenes? Do you like fanservice every now and then? But do you also like some dark, gory, and violent mixed in those as well? If it's a yes for all of the above questions, then Killing Bites can be added to your watch list.

There's not much of a story going on in this one, as most of the episodes are basically combat scenes between the anime characters. However, I must admit that fight scenes are cool, and definitely has some feel good vibes to it.

Having said that, things can get pretty dark at many points, so it won't be too great of a fit for some tastes.

In addition to battle scenes and fanservice, the anime also has a game aspect to it, and I strongly believe that most watchers would immediately recognize what it is trying to represent upon first look. It's a fairly nice addition, making it all a little less boring than if it were just mostly fighting scenes over its 12 episodes.

Throughout the anime are also small fun facts about animals, which, in my opinion, provides quite a bit of additional cool factor to it. Although I'm still unsure if they're all true or not, as I couldn't be bothered fact checking all of them.

The ending turned out to be quite an unexpected turn, and my immediate guess upon watching it is that a sequel might come. But to you who is reading this in the future, I still don't know if that will happen.

And if that does happen, rest assured I will watch it then, and write another one of my opinions here!

What's good:

  • Cool, action-packed fighting scenes
  • The idea with the animals is quite interesting. I quite love animals
  • A little fanservice doesn't hurt anyone

What's not so good:

  • Said it before, will say it again. It's really not for little kids
  • Also might not be suitable for "soft hearted" adults
  • It's quite clear that the anime has a specific target audience
